“Digital innovation to protect the World’s Animal Kingdom”
At the IWB we believe that far more can be done to protect the World’s Animal Kingdom through digital innovation.
Which is why the IWB (UK based, not-for-profit charity, Reg. No. 1164833) will be launching a new on-line platform to bring animal welfare ‘ideas’ and ‘funds’ together in a crowd funding environment.
Target Areas
The IWB Project’s will target the following areas of interest.
The detection and removal of illegal poaching activity.
The abolition of Trophy Hunting. Why? Because trophy hunting fails to deliver consistent, independently scientifically verified benefits to wild species conservation – ref IWB’s submission to the UK consultation on hunting trophy imports/exports.
The abolition of synthetic ‘canned’ hunting and hunting ‘conservation’ – In South Africa, since the mid-1990s there has been an uncontrolled proliferation to an estimated 8,000+ plus lions (and other big cats) bred in inadequate enclosures across some 300+ facilities – purely to serve exploitative, commercial interests with no recognisable species conservation purpose with risks to human health from the handling, slaughter and consumption of lions and derivative products – an immediate moratorium and closure of such facilities has been called for.
Campaigning and legal channels to change/enforce laws to protect the World’s Animal Kingdom.
Platform Overview
Many of the best ideas can come from ‘unusual’ sources so the IWB’s platform will embrace ‘your’ ideas. The IWB’s Trustees, with expert guidance will assess any submitted ideas.
Recommended ideas will be put forward to the IWB community for ‘crowd funding’ and potentially backed by the IWB’s additional funding resources as appropriate.
